Atlanta Street Photography (Vlog 1)

This is the start! I have always said I wanted to start a weekly photography blog of me taking photos. Well, here it is. I originally did not want to post this or even do it, but I kept pushing myself and at least I came up with something.

So, why am I doing this? 1) I want to become more comfortable in front of the camera, and one way to get better is to actually do it. 2) I want to create more videos and improve my storytelling. 3) Be able to look back on these videos on the day, and have random memories.

This day was really rainy and crappy but I had an idea to capture the Mercedes Benz Stadium. My idea came to a crashing halt, as I couldn't find parking, the rain picked up. Feeling defeated I gave up and headed home, where I decided I am going to do what I intended to do. I got out, walked down to Piedmont Park, and just started taking photos. They aren't great, but the moral of the story is just start.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day at MLK Memorial Center, Freedom Park John Lewis Memorial

On MLK day I drove down to the Martin Luther King National Memorial. I met Nathan Knight (man with the microphone) who is the president of the DeKalb SCLC. Mr. Knight has dedicated the last 54 years to the cause of civil rights. After speaking to him for about 20 minutes, a motorcycle came up blaring "Stayin' alive" by the Bee Gees. He ran up and shortly called me over and asked me to capture his picture. It was an honor to speak with him and learning about some of the histories that have become sanitized a color-blind to Dr. King’s life and work.

Aircraft Hangar

One of my clients had an aircraft hangar that had to be worked on. The epoxy on the slab of a 12,000 sq. ft. airplane hangar in Nashua, NH needed to be replaced. This project was on a tight schedule because the airplanes in the hangar had to be moved and stored in a rented hangar. To get to clean concrete, approximately 1700 pounds of epoxy and concrete were removed. A new epoxy coating could then be applied.
